Founding Faculty Member to Retire This Year

faculty member to retire this year

Dr. John Cash, Sr. has been a fixture at TBC since its beginnings in 1974.

His faithfulness continues to make incalculable impacts for the cause of Christ locally, nationally, and internationally, through his commitment to training future generations to rightfully divide the Word of Truth.  It is with great respect and admiration that we announce his retirement this July.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, John Thomas Cash grew up in a Christian home and has attended Trinity Baptist Church since he was a young boy.  He was saved and baptized at the church’s original campus on McDuff Avenue and resolved to dedicate his life to ministry.  After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in Duval County, a young John Cash enrolled at Bob Jones University in 1965, where he earned a BA and MA in Bible.  It was during this time that he met and married Diana Wilson.  Together, they moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1972 and began their legacy of service at Trinity Baptist Church, Trinity Christian Academy, and Trinity Baptist College.

As a founding member of TBC, Dr. Cash has been actively involved at Trinity Baptist College since it opened its doors in 1974.  Over the years he has served as Registrar, Vice-President of Institutional Affairs, Academic Vice President, Academic Dean, and professor — often serving in more than one area at a time.

His larger-than-life personality, unflinching dedication, and love for the Scriptures have earned him a distinguished reputation over the decades.  For 46 years, Dr. Cash has taught hundreds upon hundreds of students from all walks of life and has challenged them to know why they believe what they believe. He has influenced students as they cross borders, oceans, and cultural barriers to bring the love of Christ to dozens of countries on every continent in the world.

Alumni, we invite you to join us in honoring Dr. Cash at his retirement by submitting your favorite memory of him!  We will collect the submissions and have them bound to present to him in May.  If you would like to participate, please let us know at alumnirelations@tbc.org.  We will send you the link to submit your message.
