TBC Teaching Excellence Award

Congratulations to TBC’s 2023-24 Teaching Excellence Award recipient, Mrs. Carolyn Buckner! 

Mrs. Buckner has been at TBC since 2004 and has been a blessing to our student body in various capacities.  In addition to her position as a full-time faculty member, she has been influential within the student body as a counselor and mentor.  

The Teaching Excellence Award is TBC’s way of publicly recognizing outstanding faculty who exhibit excellence in the classroom combined with a genuine interest in impacting the lives of their students both inside and outside the classroom.  The recipient is chosen using several means of evaluation including in-class observation, evaluation by students in the courses, and input from the graduating students.

When asked what made Mrs. Buckner an outstanding teacher, students wrote:

“This professor is flexible with what her students need in her classes. She is amazing with encouragement and love for God.”

“I have chosen this professor because of the potential she sees in each woman at this college and her willingness to pass on her knowledge so that we can learn from her and be the best Godly women that God has called us to be.”

“This professor goes above and beyond to provide understanding and compassion to her students. She has endured several adjustments and losses over the past few months but has not faltered in her love and support of her students.”
