No.  Our doctrinal statement and statement of faith have not changed. These documents are rooted in the inerrant Word of God and are dictated by Trinity Baptist Church, our founding institution. Our commitment to biblical truth is unwavering, and the new name does not signal any shift in our theological positions.

We are committed to being a Christian college and desire to welcome all Christians to benefit from our exceptional academic programs.

Trinity College of Jacksonville will not conform to this world and will continue to seek to boldly glorify God by launching Christians who are prepared for both life and ministry into a variety of vocations and ministries.

No. The College maintains affiliations with Trinity Baptist Church, Converge, and First Coast Churches (formerly named the Jacksonville Baptist Association). As such, the College enjoys more affiliations with historically Baptist organizations than ever before. Additionally, Trinity College of Jacksonville will continue to look to Trinity Baptist Church for alignment and direction regarding doctrinal matters.

That said, while the College’s founding was recommended by actions of Trinity Baptist Church in 1974, it has been a separate 501 (c)(3) and remains autonomous.

No. The college’s mission and core convictions remain the same, rooted in the authoritative Word of God.

Our entire faculty and staff resolutely affirm our statement of belief.

All trustees, officers, members of the faculty or of the staff, and those who perform work connected with the educational activities of the College, must affirm the essential beliefs:

1. The inerrancy and authority of the Holy Scriptures
2. The doctrine of the Trinity
3. The full deity and humanity of Christ: that Christ is truly God and truly man
4. The spiritual lostness of the human race
5. The substitutionary atonement and bodily resurrection of Christ
6. That salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone
7. The visible and bodily return of Christ
8. The meaning of baptism as an ordinance of the church and not a means of salvation
9. The biblical view of marriage, gender, and sexuality.

After several years of research and consideration, the Board of Trustees officially approved the adoption of the new name, Trinity College of Jacksonville, in November 2024.

Since then, the College has partnered with the Communications Department of Trinity Baptist Church and Trinity Ministries to communicate this change, as we continue to deliver traditional Christian higher education to the next generation of students.

On April 25, 2025, Trinity Baptist College announced that it would begin doing business as Trinity College of Jacksonville. The effective date of this change will be the first day of classes for the Fall 2025 semester.

Re-branded products, merchandise, and materials will roll out starting in the Fall of 2025.

We are continuing our branding and growth campaign, alerting our city and nation of our commitment to Christian higher education.

The effective adoption date of the name Trinity College of Jacksonville is the first day of class during the Fall 2025 semester.

Aside from new branding, which includes a new web address and student email addresses, day-to-day student life and academics will not be affected by this change.

We are (and always have been) unashamedly a Christian college.  As such, all students granted admission at TBC are in agreement with the biblical principles and essential Christian beliefs on which the institution is founded.  Furthermore, all students are expected to abide by our student handbook and to attend spiritual formation events such as regular chapel services for our on-campus student community.

The process of adopting the Trinity College of Jacksonville name and growth plan is funded through a Board-approved distribution from the College’s institutional funds and gifts from donors as an investment in the future and in the great potential of our students. There are no plans to increase tuition or fees to fund the name change transition or the initial phase of the growth plan.

Yes. The revised logo was unveiled April 25, 2025, to faculty, staff, and students during a college chapel service. In addition to positioning TCJ for innovation and growth, the new logo and brand identity pays tribute to TCJ’s storied history as a biblically-based, Christian educational institution.

Not necessarily. The main goal of your resume or CV is to accurately present relevant information in a clear format. You have several options of listing your alma mater including “Trinity College of Jacksonville,” “Trinity College of Jacksonville (formerly Trinity Baptist College),” or “Trinity Baptist College (d.b.a. Trinity College of Jacksonville),” etc.

Yes. The new web address is TCJ.edu. It will become active in August 2025.

Yes. The application for the new college web address including tcj.edu was approved and the transition is expected to begin in August 2025 with the fall semester. TBC.edu emails will be forwarded to TCJ.edu email addresses.

Note: There is no current plan to retire TBC.edu email addresses. Once the transition date is confirmed, a more detailed plan about college email addresses will be communicated. In the meantime, continue to use your TBC.edu email address as normal.

The College’s new name did not affect our accreditation status. TCJ continues to be accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools.

Our beloved Eagle mascot continues to champion our 7 NCCAA Division II sports! And we are still blue and gold.

New athletic gear adorned with our new logo is being introduced and “TCJ” apparel, as well as updated signage in the various sporting venues across campus, is being gradually replaced over time.

More than 90% of our undergraduate students receive some type of financial aid.

The process of applying for financial aid is unchanged. Prospective students applying for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will continue to use the same institutional code (031019) on aid applications as they did before the name change.

Yes. While TCJ is a full-fledged, Christian Liberal Arts institution, we are still deeply committed to our historic programs in biblical studies. In fact, since 2020, God has blessed the college with a 40% increase in students who are studying in our vocational ministry programs. We are so committed to training specialists for the ministry that we provide special scholarships for students who come to study in these programs. While we offer more programs than ever before, we will continue to offer our historic, biblical studies programs and invest heavily in students who are led to pursue those studies at TCJ. Additionally, students studying our liberal arts programs will now be granted a Bible minor to go along with their majors in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Counseling, and more.

The new name positions Trinity College of Jacksonville to best serve a new generation of students seeking a Christ-centered education. It reflects our desire to be both faithful to our heritage and forward-looking in our mission. We believe this step will help us reach more students, expand our influence, and magnify the name of Christ in our community and beyond.

Our new naming and growth campaign is designed to positively impact the expansion of both our residential campus and our distance learning community.  The continued growth of the college will extend the influence of our enriching experience and enlarge the college’s reputation as an institution of Christian integrity and excellence.
