TBC Graduation Ceremony 2020

Dear Graduate

We are eagerly looking forward to having you back on campus for commencement on August 8, 2020. To help you prepare, here is some information for you and your family and other guests who may be attending.

1. Rehearsal will be at 9:30 a.m. on August 8 in the Trinity Baptist Church Auditorium. Please arrive prior to the start time. Rehearsal will last approximately one hour. You must attend rehearsal to participate in the ceremony that afternoon.
2. Please do not bring guests with you to the rehearsal. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we will limit those in the auditorium to participants in graduation.
3. Your regalia will be on your seat in the auditorium. Graduates will be socially distanced by at least one empty seat.
4. Many of you have already received your diploma. You do not need to bring it back with you. We will hand you a separate document during the ceremony.
5. In accordance with the Mayor of Jacksonville’s mandate, you will be required to wear a mask to enter any building on campus. You will be allowed to remove your mask once you are seated. You will need to wear a mask for the processional and recessional but not during the ceremony.
6. When the ceremony is over you will be directed to leave the building immediately. Plan with your guests ahead of time where you will meet them outside. No one will be allowed to remain in the building including the lobby and Connections Plaza.
7. All guests will be required to wear masks to enter and exit the building but may remove them once they are seated.
8. Family units may sit together but we ask families to socially distance themselves from other groups by at least two chairs. Please ask your friends and families to follow the directions for seating provided by ushers and indicated by signs. Alternate rows will be closed.
9. At the conclusion of the ceremony, after you have had opportunity to greet your guests and take pictures, you will return your regalia to representatives in the auditorium. Only the graduate may re-enter the building to return regalia. Masks must be worn.
10. Childcare will not be available.
11. We will be live-streaming the event for those who cannot be in attendance. Your friends can log on to the college’s Facebook page to stream the event.
12. If you or a guest is ill including running a fever in excess of 100.4 or showing other signs of COVID-19 we would ask you to not come to campus.
